About The Canadian TREE Fund

The Canadian TREE Fund (CTF) is a registered charitable organization that was established in 1996 to promote and help fund arboricultural research in Canada. The charity is administered by the secretary/treasurer and overseen by a board of trustees.

Our mission is to identify significant environmental, biological, social and economic needs related to tree genetics, management and care and provide funding for innovative basic/applied research and education.

Research and educational projects funded by CTF must be in keeping with this mission statement. Information and knowledge gained from the research is shared with arborists who practice in municipal, commercial and utility operations as well as educators, students and other researchers. To date, the trust has awarded close to 60 grants with a combined worth of almost $700,000.

It has become increasingly important for society to consider promoting and preserving its natural environment, in which trees play a significant role. Research serves to enhance arborists’ understanding of developing, selecting and managing trees for the benefit of future generations.

Play a Role With CTF

The Canadian TREE Fund is always looking for bright, enthusiastic individuals who understand the importance of giving something back to our industry and helping to preserve our environment. If you have the time, the energy, and a passion for trees, you may be a perfect fit for our worthwhile and challenging cause!

Whether it be fund raising, event planning, assessing the merits of grant proposals, or helping to recognize our generous donors, your contribution will be appreciated. The rewards include a priceless sense of accomplishment that comes with knowing you are doing something that will help raise awareness of our urban forest and elevate and escalate the evolution of the science of arboriculture. In addition, you will get to work with and associate with some of the most successful, and progressive thinking, people practicing arboriculture in our country.
